Once Upon A Time In The East of Belgium. In 2014 the Ford Motor Company decided to shut down their factory plant in Genk. For a few Euros more the factory was moved to Spain in 2015. On December 18th 2014 the last car rolled off the conveyor.

Toni Uranio and his orchestra wrote Ciao Mondeo, a dramatic farewell song sung in Italian for the factory's flagship, the Ford Mondeo.

Toni and his Orchestra (with Micha Volders on drums and Tim Geelen on synths) recorded a live version of the song on the abandoned parking of the factory on September 28th 2015. Video by Martijn Pillards.

The song was used in SCHROOT by Het Nieuwstedelijk, a theatre piece on the aftermath of the closure that was played between September 23d and 30th 2015 on the abandoned parking of Ford Genk.
